Toshiya Hayaski and Hokuto Ando, two designers based out of Tokyo, partnered up to create a design studio exploring innovative applications for rudimentary materials. This design exploration, Disguise, was created using a rotary molding process with layers of wax. This process creates a “shell” with a smooth texture on the outside, and an irregular texture on the inside. An LED light is placed underneath, and when the vases are filled with water, a rippling effect creates a beautiful show of light and shadow.
