The mango house
A second family home, The Mango House is a beautiful piece of architecture located in Alibaug, India, which is off the coast of Mumbai and can be reached by ferry. Designed by Studio PKA, the natural hues of stone, brick and wood are complemented by its lush, stunning surroundings. The structure of the house was carefully positioned as to not disrupt the root systems of the surrounding mango trees, while still benefitting from the offered shade. The well thought out design allows residents to connect with nature through large openings and windows in the structure. A gentle breeze runs through the space, creating a relaxing and reconnecting experience. Terraces overlook a pool the beautiful surroundings, also benefiting from the shade of a close by mango tree.
