Plastic bottles help build wooden furniture

Posted by Analog Watch Co. on

Over-producing and consuming of materials such as plastic has left our planet looking a little - cluttered. On the upside, we now have access to an abundance of FREE materials to experiment and create with.

The amazing aspect is not the plastic bottles themselves, but what can be done with them now that they already exist. This is just one surprisingly amazing way we can reuse and recycle.

London based designer, Micaella Pedros, has taken advantage of the shape and chemical properties of used, unwanted plastic bottles. She transforms the common drinking apparatus into shrink wrap for the purpose of joining wood. The results are functional, interesting pieces of furniture.

By taking these bottles off the streets and creating ways for them to have a functional presence in our spaces and lives, we are able to keep them out of our oceans. Leaving the world a little less cluttered.
