Natural materials build geometric bridge coverings

Posted by Analog Watch Co. on

This bridge, designed by Mimesis Archecture Studio, uses bamboo to create this intricately designed work of art that resides in China’s Jiangsu Province. The Wuxi Harbour Bridge curves across Lake Taihu in Dingshu Town, spanning a little over a half mile. The bridge provides a passage for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists over the lake while also taking their breath away with its stunning geometric design. The bridge utilizes a steel structure as a base and then forms a series of triangular frames lined with carbonized bamboo poles. Every bamboo pole is designed to be removed and replaced when necessary. But for now we have the privilege of marveling at some beautiful work and innovative design.
