Lake Hope State Park in the Zaleski State Forest

Posted by Analog Watch Co. on

Me and my brother took a trip to Lake Hope State Park, to soak up some of the crisp fall colors that are only in bloom for a short while.

An hour and a half drive is worth it to gaze on the shimmering water and feel earth beneath your boots and the crunch of fallen leaves.

As we hiked along the edge of the lake we couldn’t help but stop and enjoy the nature around us, the cool air breathing into our lungs and fueling us for the rest of the hike.

Very few folks will take time out of there day to just walk, no agenda or end goal but to just feel the ground and let it guide you along.

John Muir once put it so beautifully by saying ’In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.’ and also ‘I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.’ These are things we tried to accomplish, to just take a break from the daily grind and the tugs and pulls of this life. Time to just marvel at things created.

We drove back in the dark having having spent all day exploring lake hope, thinking about the time spent there and wanting desperately to go back soon.
