MATERIAL MONTHLY - SEPTEMBER

Posted by Analog Watch Co. on

How often do you use aluminum foil? The moldable metal is a staple in every kitchen within the United States. Because of it's popularity, we are not surprised that someone found a really cool way to take the everyday material and turn it into art. Each furniture piece you see above has been hand-sculpted from various industrial materials before being covered in aluminum foil, painted, and sealed in resin. Chris Shanck, the designer of these unique furniture pieces, collects materials, creates a skeleton, and then provides the skin of aluminum foil. We're excited about these aluminum foil creations and can't wait to see how else this popular material can be transformed.
